Why does an author need an editor? The next OPuS event sees the return of the inspirational and entertaining Sue Freestone, Publishing Director of Hutchinson, with her latest author acquisition Andrew Rosenheim.
Andrew Rosenheim is an American who has lived in England for over 25 years. He worked in publishing for many years, at Oxford University Press and most recently at Penguin, where he was Managing Director of Penguin Press. He left Penguin in 2002 to write full-time, and his latest novel Stillriver was published in March by Hutchinson.
Sue Freestone has wide experience of working with authors, from Douglas Adams to Sebastian Faulks, and has even been known to move in with the author to ensure the book gets finished. She started her publishing career as an editor at William Heinemann and in 1992, after a brief spell as an editorial director at Jonathan Cape, she became Publishing Director of Hutchinson, where, in addition to Sebastian Faulks, she edits authors such as Robert Harris, Stephen Fry, Douglas Kennedy and A.N. Wilson.
Simon Littlewood, International Director of Random House, will also be in attendance.
