We slipped and we slid but on the day of 3ins of snow, 80 hardy souls managed to make it to Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons for the OPuS International Evening. We were greeted by an energetic demonstration of flamenco dancing and guitar playing, which acted as an excellent warm up and introduction to presentations by three Oxford Brookes’ students who talked eloquently and enthusiastically about their course and their publishing aspirations; there were even prizes from the speaker from China. The audience by this time were ready for the appetizing food prepared by the chefs from Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons, washed down by a never-ending supply of delicious wine. It was an excellent evening which was obviously greatly enjoyed by all those who had braved the weather.
